Va. OKs 6 Dominion energy conservation programs

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Six energy conservation programs proposed by Dominion Virginia Power have won state approval.

Four programs are designed for residential customers and two are for commercial customers.

A five-year residential bundle includes home energy checkup, duct testing and sealing, pump tune-up and pump upgrade programs. A five-year commercial bundle consists of energy audit and duct testing and sealing programs.

The State Corporation Commission announced its approval of the programs Tuesday.

The SCC also capped the amounts that Dominion Virginia Power can bill customers to recover implementation costs and revenues lost because of reduced energy consumption.

A $90 million cost cap was imposed for the residential bundle during the five-year period, A $45 million cost cap was imposed on the commercial bundle.
