Vacation Bible school listing for the coming week ... and beyond

The weekly Vacation Bible school did not get in the print edition of Saturday’s

(June 14) paper so I’m sharing it via the blog with the hope that those wondering which churches are offering the traditional summer Bible school events will see it.

Vacation Bible schools

Bible school events are scheduled as follows. Activities are free unless otherwise noted.

 “Vacation Bible School,” hosted by First Baptist Church of Edmond, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14 ,at several parks in Edmond: Oak Ridge Estates Park, S Vista Lane and Center Lane; Meadow Lakes Park, Meadow Lake Drive and Winding Lane; and Ted Anderson Park, 2405 S Rankin. “Weird Animals: Where Jesus’ Love Is One of a Kind,” 6 to 8:30 Sunday through Wednesday, June 15-18, First Baptist Church of Bethany, 3800 N Mueller, Bethany. Geared for ages prekindergarten through fifth grade. Information: 789-3312 or www.fbcbethany.com.

“Jungle Safari: Where Kids Explore the Nature of God,” 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday,  June 16-19, First United Methodist Church of Edmond, 305 E Hurd. Information: 341-0107.

“Esther: Be Brave,” 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, June 17-19, Memorial Road Church of Christ, 2221 E Memorial Road. Open house, 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. Geared for age 3 to fifth grade. Information: 478-0166 or www.mrcc.org.

“Workshop of Wonders,” 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 22-26, Village United Methodist Church, 2501 W Britton Road. Snack supper will begin at 5:30 p.m. Geared for children age 3 through fifth grade. Information: 751-8116; (CQ)www.villagemethodist.org.

Agency D3: Discover, Decide, Defend,” 9 a.m. to noon June 23-27, Quail Springs Baptist Church, 14613 N May. Geared for prekindergarten (must by age 5 by Sept. 1) through fifth grade. Information: (CQ) www.qsbc.org.

“Wilderness Escape,” 9 a.m. to noon June 23-26, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15, Geared for age 3 to fifth grade. Information: Susan (CQ) Easttom, 609-1036.

“Faith Expedition,” 9 to 11:45 a.m. June 23-27, Heritage Presbyterian Church, 14500 N Western, Edmond. Geared for prekindergarten through fifth grade. Information: 752-2270.

“Gangway to Galilee,” 8:30 a.m. to noon, June 23-27, First Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City, 1300 N Robinson. A VBS Summer Fest from 1 to 4 p.m. June 22 will kick off the Bible school activities. (CQ)www.firstlutheranokc.org.

“Son Treasure Island,” 9 a.m. to noon June 23-27, St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 3939 W Tecumseh Road, Norman. Geared for prekindergarten through fifth grade. Cost: $25 for first child; $20 each additional child. Information: 366-7676.
