NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Vanderbilt fans have already bought up the initial allotment of 10,000 tickets to the Jan. 4 BBVA Compass Bowl, and officials say they will work with bowl officials to secure more seating in the Commodore ticket block.

The athletics department says fans will still be able to buy tickets through the Vanderbilt ticket office for the bowl.

Vanderbilt plays the Houston Cougars in the game at Birmingham. Both teams are 8-4.

Vanderbilt says it has sold through the assigned ticket allotment for its last four bowls, including the Music City Bowl in 2008 and 2012 and the Liberty Bowl in 2011.
