Collected Wisdom: Bruce Hendrickson, Oklahoma's winningest high school football coach
Bruce Hendrickson still holds the state record for most wins by a high school football coach with 351. Hendrickson won state titles at Seiling (1988), Okeene (1981) and Texhoma (1971) and coached at five other schools — Commerce, Wynnewood, Cordell and Wewoka. Now he's back at Seiling.
Guthrie's Kai Callins back to his old self after torn ACL
Kai Callins came into last year as one of the top recruits for the 2014 class in the state. But the injury and the uncertainty around his return have slowed things down.
Coaches, athletes weigh in on NCAA's suspended recruiting proposals
The proposals would have lifted restrictions on phone calls, mail and text messages, which were banned for college football recruiting in 2007. OU football coach Bob Stoops was among those who spoke out against the proposals.
Tuttle will have a different look at quarterback
For the past seven years, head coach Phil Koons has not only had the ear of his quarterback on the field but also at home, with one of his three sons starting each year. This year, the battle is on for the job.
Casady's Josh Wariboko-Alali getting a taste of success
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound offensive lineman is gaining interest from many Division I schools, and he recently won the discus and took second in the shot put at the SPC championships.
Choctaw wrestler Becka Leathers wins cadet national championship
Choctaw's Becka Leathers won a national women's wrestling championship on Saturday in Lakeland, Fla., and will represent the United States at the world wrestling championships in Serbia.
