Award-winning singer-songwriter Emily Faith, 10, of Kingfisher, who recently won “Best Young Artist of the Year” at the Indie Music Channel Awards in Hollywood, is a finalist to perform live on stage at a Martina McBride concert.
The competition will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Fillin’ Station in Kingston Springs, Tenn., according to a news release. Thousands of artists from around the world submitted entries for the opportunity, and Emily is one of just 21 finalists. She is also the only child.
“Martina McBride is one of my favorite artists ever,” says Emily in the release. “I’m so happy to even be chosen as a finalist. I just love her music and it would be an awesome experience to be able to perform on stage at one of her concerts.”
Emily’s career has been on a tremendous rise over the past several of months, especially for an artist at such a young age. On Thursday, Oct. 24, Emily will walk the Red Carpet as a nominee at the 19th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards. The event takes place at Two Rivers Fellowship at Opryland in Nashville, Tenn., where Emily is nominated for the Best Youth in Music Award.
In March of this year, she was named the North American County Music Association International Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, as well as the winner of the Country and Gospel Video of the Year award.
In April, Emily was awarded Best Young Artist of the Year at the 2013 Indie Music Channel Awards at the House of Blues in Hollywood, where she also performed before an audience from around the world.
Emily also recently recorded her new CD “Oklahoma Dreams” in Nashville with several members of the Reba McEntire Band. The CD features 12 original songs and has received tremendous praise.
