On Monday, three members of the cast and crew of the inspirational sports drama “50 to 1″ brought their bus to to the NewsOK studios and let me chat with them about the movie, which opened Friday in Oklahoma theaters.
Jim Wilson, the movie’s Oscar-winning producer, director and co-writer; Faith Conroy, co-writer and co-producer; and actor Jamie McShane (TV’s “Sons of Anarchy”) made several stops in Oklahoma City, Stillwater and Tulsa on the cross-country bus tour.
The inspirational true story of 2009 Kentucky Derby longshot Mine That Bird, “50 to 1″ stars Norman-bred actor Christian Kane, Skeet Ulrich and William Devane portraying the maverick New Mexican cowboys who took the crooked-footed racehorse all the way to Churchill Downs.
“We’re on a cross-country tour that started in New Mexico, which is largely where this story started. And we’re kind of mimicking the trail that the trainer took with his horse up to Kentucky. So we’re on our way, and here we are in Oklahoma,” Wilson said.
