Video: Carrie Underwood becomes CMT Music Awards' most honored artist

Checotah native Carrie Underwood owned the evening when she took home Wednesday night’s biggest win at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Tenn. Her Video of the Year win for “See You Again,” with director Eric Welch, became Underwood’s third consecutive honor in the category, since she won in 2013 with “Blown Away” and in 2012 with “Good Girl.”

No other artist has won in this category three times back-to-back, let alone from the same album, according to a news release.  This win also distinguishes the 2005 “American Idol” victor as the entertainer with the most CMT Music Awards with 10.

In addition, she now holds the record with the most Video of the Year career wins, with five including 2010’s “Cowboy Casanova” and 2007′s “Before He Cheats.”

As you can see, Underwood’s emotional clip for “See You Again” pays tribute to victims and survivors of the 2013 Oklahoma tornadoes, as well as to military servicemen and women and their families:
