VIDEO: Eight-year-old child with brain cancer meets the Thunder and hero Kevin Durant

by Anthony Slater Published: October 23, 2013

Since the Thunder franchise moved to Oklahoma City more than five years ago, we have received an up-close look at what a sports organization can do for a community.

That was never more evident than in the months following last May’s devastating tornado that ripped through Moore. The Thunder players, coaches and front office gave time, money and hope to a number of displaced victims.

The above video isn’t nearly of that same magnitude, but still provides a vivid peak into the daily impact they can have.

Last Sunday, before their preseason game against the Jazz, OKC hosted Ne’Vaeh Littleton, an eight-year-old Maryland boy with a rare form of brain cancer.

Check out the above video, shot and posted on YouTube by the Thunder’s official website. It’s a touching little story, made possible by the Oklahoma Make-A-Wish foundation.
