Late in the first quarter of Saturday’s game, Oklahoma fans got their first look at the application of the new targeting rule.

Oklahoma senior safety Gabe Lynn hit Tulsa running back Trey Watts in the end zone on a third-down play. Lynn was flagged for targeting and ejected from the game.

Tulsa scored two plays later.
