Tulsa native Mary Kay Place and Megyn Price, who grew up in Norman, star alongside Dolly Parton, Brian McKnight and Ross McCall in the Lifetime Original Movie “A Country Christmas Story,” premiering at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

A summary of the movie, provided by Lifetime, is as follows:

Lifetime’s holiday programming slate, It’s a Wonderful Lifetime, returns with the heartwarming Original Movie, A Country Christmas Story. Starring musical icon and multiple Grammy Award winner Dolly Parton (Nine to Five), Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer and producer Brian McKnight (American Dreams), Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement), Mary Kay Place (Big Love), Ross McCall (Green Street Hooligans) and newcomer Desiree Ross (Park Bench), the film follows a young Appalachian mountain girl (Ross) as she pursues her dream of becoming a country star against the wishes of her mother (Price).  Her journey to the stage at Dollywood with a singing competition hosted by Dolly Parton reunites her with her musician father (McKnight) and uncovers the musical legacy of African Americans in the world of country music.
