Correy Wadden’s mother has wanted a copper 1973 Saab 99 EMS for as long as he can remember. Years ago, she cleaned houses for a living, and the owner of one of the houses would let her drive his Saab 99. Wadden said she “fell in love with it.”
After saving the money for a car, Wadden looked for six months to find the right car. A seller on eBay had a similar car, he collected Saabs and had just the one Wadden was looking for, Wadden said.
In the video, he surprises his mother with the car, which she explores with excitement, and their loving relationship shines through.
“Two and a half years ago, my mom lost her job and I set off on a challenge to earn enough money to financially retire her, he said. “I haven't been successful yet, but this is a big milestone in helping to improve her life. She hasn't had a car in a year, and the one before that was falling apart.”
