As previously reported, multiplatinum-selling duo Thompson Square – which consists of Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson and his wife Shawna – on Monday became the first country music act to grace the stage of CBS’ new
syndicated daytime talk show “The Queen Latifah Show.”
In Oklahoma City, “The Queen Latifah Show” airs at 11 a.m. on KOKH Fox 25 and The CW 34.
The reigning Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Vocal Duo of the Year, Thompson Square performed their latest sassy single, “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About,” on the show, which is hosted by the Grammy- and Golden Globe-winning actress, musician, record-label president and author.
“The Queen Latifah Show” recently was the second highest rated premiere of a new daytime talk show since the “Dr. Oz Show” debuted in 2009 and premiered as the highest rated new daytime talk show of the fall 2013 season, according to a news release.
The show is produced by Latifah alongside Shakim Compere and Overbrook Entertainment’s Will Smith, Jada Smith, and James Lassiter.

“Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About” is already a Top 40 hit at country radio and is the follow-up to Thompson Square’s gold-certified No. 1 smash “If I Didn’t Have You.” Both songs appear on Thompson Square’s new album, “Just Feels Good.”
The couple is nominated for the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year Award for the third consecutive time. Thompson Square made history last year when it became the only established married duo act to win CMA Vocal Duo of the Year since the creation of the award. Thompson Square will defend its CMA crown in Nashville Nov. 6.
The duo is currently opening for Luke Bryan on his “Dirt Road Diaries Tour” through October 2013.
