Tied with Seward County College (Kan.) 68-68 with 3.2 seconds to go, Pratt Community College (Kan.) had time for one final shot.
And Watonga native Javis Flynn hit a half-court buzzer-beater for the win.
Flynn, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound guard, scored 15 points in Pratt's semifinal win of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region VI tournament in Wichita, Kan., none of those points more important than his final 3-pointer. Following a free throw from Seward's Niem Stevenson to tie the game at 68-all, Flynn receives the inbounds pass, dribbles to just inside halfcourt and lets fly to keep the Beavers (21-12) alive in the tournament.
Wish I could respond to everybody but I feel the love and that was definitely for my guys and all the fans.. Let's win this tom! #rollblue— Javis Flynn (@j_fly3) March 8, 2014
Pratt moves on to face Hutchinson (Kan.) in the tournament championship Saturday at 7 p.m. The champion of each Regional/district tournament earns an automatic berth into the NJCAA D-I National Championship tournament.
