Virginia Tech developing 'Hokie Stone' helmets

Virginia Tech has long used a distinctive limestone when constructing buildings on its Blacksburg, Va., campus. Aptly named “Hokie Stone”, the rock is taken from a nearby quarry which supplies approximately 80 percent of the stone used in campus construction, according to Virginia Tech.



Hokie Stone will now also be used in the construction of Virginia Tech football helmets.
