KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee pitcher Drake Owenby has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving nine months after a DUI arrest.

Owenby received a six-month suspended sentence Tuesday that also requires him to pay a $50 fine plus court costs. Owenby had been arrested on a DUI charge during an April 14 traffic stop by Knoxville police on Interstate 275.

Owenby, a sophomore left-hander, was 2-1 with a 5.60 ERA and two saves in 16 appearances as a freshman last season.

Tennessee athletic department spokesman Brian Bruce said that Owenby and Volunteers coach Dave Serrano declined comment on the matter.

The Vols open the season Feb. 14 against Nebraska-Omaha.
