And then there were eight. The Elite Eight, that is. Our field of 64 beers has been whittled down to eight survivors after yesterday’s voting in the Sweet 16 of the sixth annual Beer Championship Series.

Within three days, we’ll find out which beer will be crowned champion, win the title of Oklahoma’s favorite beer for 2013 and claim the coveted Golden Taphandle Trophy.

First, let’s take a look at the Sweet 16 results from Monday:

-COOP F5 IPA 55 percent over Green Flash West Coast IPA 45 percent

-Roughtail Hoptometrist 56 percent over Marshall El CuCuy 44 percent

-Prairie Standard 65 percent over COOP DNR 35 percent

-Rochefort 10 59 percent over Choc Belgian Dubble 41 percent

-Prairie Noir 57 percent over Great Divide Yeti 43 percent

-Prairie Bomb! 78 percent over COOP Territorial Reserve Oak Aged Imperial Stout 22 percent

-Boulevard Rye-on-Rye 72 percent over COOP Native Amber 28 percent

-Roughtail 12th Round 54 percent over Roughtail Red Republic 46 percent

Here’s how the updated bracket looks.

And now let’s move on to the Elite Eight! It’s time to crown our regional champions and decide which beers will advance to the Final Four. Cast your vote for your favorite, but remember, please vote only one time per match-up, per person, per day.
