The Oklahoma City School Board elections on Tuesday offer voters the opportunity to provide a course correction for a district that's too often fallen short in spite of striving to do better.
The most important race on the ballot is the position of the Oklahoma City Public School Board chairman. All voters in the school district have the opportunity to vote in this race. It's important that they do so.
We believe Lynne Hardin deserves election as chairman. Hardin is a product of the district. She attended at a time when others envied Oklahoma City schools and wants to raise them back to that status again.
Hardin is president and CEO of Integrated Solutions Inc. and a certified professional facilitator with education experience. She has served as executive director of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Foundation and on the board of The Oklahoma Independent Colleges and Universities Foundation. She helped raise nearly a million dollars for her alma mater, Northwest Classen High School.
Hardin's supporters include notable Oklahoma City officials and past school leaders, including Cliff Hudson, Kirk Humphreys, Lou Kerr and Ron Norick.
