CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is asking federal officials to delay regulations for existing power plants.

Morrisey said Friday he sent a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency regarding plans to establish carbon dioxide emission regulations for existing power plants.

According to the letter, Morrisey says the regulations should be postponed because they are based on flawed rules targeting new power plants.

He urged the EPA to travel to West Virginia to hear firsthand from people who will be directly impacted by the proposed regulations.
