TULSA, Okla. (AP) — University of Tulsa football coach Bill Blankenship has kicked sophomore defensive back Darnell Walker Jr. off the Golden Hurricane football team.
Blankenship announced the move Thursday — citing actions unbecoming the standards of a TU football player.
Further details were not released, although Blankenship mentioned academic, athletic and social standards that TU football players are to uphold.
Walker is a cornerback from Bolivar, Missouri, who played in 11 games and started eight during the 2013 season as a red-shirt freshman. He had 52 tackles, eight pass breakups and four interceptions.
