Wall of mud washes away photographer's car in Colorado Published: July 11, 2013

A torrential downpour on the Waldo Canyon burn scar before the evening commute Wednesday turned loose a flash flood that swept stunned motorists off the road and closed U.S. Highway 24 for about three hours, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

The storm was fast and powerful. The National Weather Service in Pueblo said more than an inch of rain fell in upper Waldo Canyon within 35 minutes.
