Storms dropped small hail in Kingfisher County this evening, and winds up to 60 mph were reported in Canadian, Payne and Washita counties, the National Weather Service in Norman reported.
In Oklahoma City, storms knocked down power lines, blew over several trees and broke in half a billboard, which fell onto a business. More than 2,000 people were without power in Oklahoma City at 8 p.m. Warm temperatures will continue in Oklahoma in the coming days, with slight chances for rain through the Labor Day weekend. Warm and humid conditions are expected to continue into the weekend with isolated thunderstorms possible, mainly during the afternoon. Overnight lows are expected to drop to near 60 in the western Panhandle and lower 60s to 70s elsewhere in the state. Skies should be partly cloudy on Saturday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s to upper 90s.
