Mark Thomas Brim, 57, of Oklahoma City, told Moore police he accidentally left a gun at a Moore elementary school, according to court documents.
MOORE — A man accused of leaving a loaded handgun in a Moore elementary school turned himself in Wednesday.
Mark Thomas Brim, 57, of Oklahoma City, surrendered during his arraignment, Moore police spokesman Jeremy Lewis said. Brim was wanted on a complaint of possession of a weapon on school property.
A loaded .380-caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic was found about 8:25 a.m. Monday on a teacher's chair inside Plaza Towers Elementary School.
Brim told police he went to the school to help his wife with some computer problems because she was the IT tech for school. He said the gun fell out of his back pocket while he was there, according to the warrant request.
The gun was discovered by a teacher Monday morning.
Brim told police he did not realize the gun was missing until his wife told him the school was on lockdown because a loaded gun was found on school grounds.
Brim's concealed carry license expired, according to court documents.
He was booked into the Cleveland County jail and his bail was set at $5,000.
