MIDWEST CITY — Nearly two dozen people were taken to jail when authorities in Midwest City conducted an arrest warrant sweep.

Midwest City police officers, along with deputies from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, conducted the four-hour sweep Friday.

Twenty-two people were taken to jail, Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said.

"We were very successful, and we feel certain we will do this again in the future,” Clabes said.

Law enforcement officials considered the type of warrant and the length of time the warrant has been outstanding when determining which individuals to pursue.

Clabes said the arrestees were cooperative and no problems were reported.

Midwest City residents can determine if they have an outstanding warrant by calling the city’s warrant department at 739-1238.

Information about Oklahoma County warrants can be obtained by calling 713-1000, ext. 1.
