We here in Oklahoma are all-too familiar with severe weather, and I can’t think of a single person who ever gets upset that news stations cut into scheduled programming so they can give us weather updates.

Apparently some folks in South Dakota aren’t as appreciative as us, because a local news station there was “berated” with calls from viewers angry that tornado coverage broke into their favorite television show(s).

That prompted KSFY anchor Nancy Naeve to drop some truthbombs onto the unappreciative, angry viewers:

I tell you what.  Quit calling and ripping Shawn [the meteorologist] for being on the air to save people’s lives. … No show is as important as someone’s life. … I tell you what, if it was your home and your neighbors, you would feel differently. So please, please don’t do that.  That’s not nice. … We get it.  We get it. You love your show and we love that that you’re watching KSFY. But we love that Shawn was saving lives, literally.
