Baylor's Isaiah Austin saw his future as a pro basketball player nixed by a career-ending medical condition, but the NBA made a classy move at Thursday night's draft.

Midway through the first round, Austin was "drafted" by the NBA and commissioner Adam Silver. Austin, a 7-foot-1 forward who was projected as a late first-round pick in the NBA Draft, was diagnosed earlier this week with Marfan syndrome, an inherited disease that could be life threatening. Austin was instructed to never play basketball again.

That didn't keep the NBA from honoring him on Thursday.
