Not one. Not two. Three bites.

Uruguay forward Luis Suarez bit Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in a 1-0 win for Uruguay in their final group match of the World Cup on Tuesday. Suarez wasn’t reprimanded during the game for trying to take a chunk out of Chiellini’s shoulder, but it was caught on tape — the third time Suarez has been documented biting an opponent in a game.

On the play, Suarez and Chiellini scuffle for position in Italy's penalty area before Suarez nods his head toward the Italian defender and makes his move.

Suarez first struck when he played for Dutch club Ajax in 2010. He was banned seven games.

In the Barclays Premier League playing for his club team Liverpool in 2013, Suarez bit Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic  in a pretty obvious display.  Suarez was banned for 10 games. That was Strike Two.

With the win, Uruguay moved on to the Round of 16, where it will play against the winner of Group C (either Columbia or Ivory Coast). But one has to imagine Suarez will be suspended for that match, leaving Uruguay without its best player.

Three strikes/bites and you’re out, right?
