Water main break floods metro intersection

Oklahoman Published: June 23, 2006
A water main break at NW 23 Street and May Avenue has flooded the intersection there.

The break occurred about 4:40 p.m. today, said Jennifer James McCollum, a spokeswoman for the city of Oklahoma City. The 16-inch line ruptured, causing flooding at one of the city's busier intersections.

McCollum said crews may have to close the intersection to repair the broken line. About eight customers in the area may be without water until Saturday, she said. has disabled the comments for this article.
