WCWS: Former OU defensive back Scott Case back home to watch his daughter play for Alabama

Scott Case, 52, played 11 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, which is why his daughter, Alabama left fielder Kallie Case grew up in the Atlanta suburb of Suwanee.

Elaborate on how Kallie became a Thunder fan.

All four of my kids have adopted the Thunder. Me and my wife were Oklahoma born and bred and will always be Oklahomans. When Oklahoma City got a team they became our team. My kids wear a lot of Thunder stuff in Atlanta. In fact, my entire family is stocking up on Thunder gear while we’re in town for the World Series.

What’s your reaction to Kallie saying you were her idol growing up?

This is her time to shine. We’re so grateful she’s getting to play for such a great program and experience something like this. Let’s be honest, in softball there’s no WNBA. There’s some pro softball leagues but this is the ultimate if you don’t play for Team USA. For her to play at this high of a level, especially as a sophomore, we’re all so proud. And she’s having a blast.
