Only Washington’s two-game sweep of the Women’s College World Series best-of-three final kept the fans from setting the all-time WCWS attendance record.
With Tuesday night’s attendance of 5,807, a total of 60,512 fans came through the gates of Hall of Fame Stadium, setting a record for average attendance per session at 6,724. The total attendance was the second-most, behind the 2007 crowd of 62,463.

If you’re scoring quarterbacks in attendance at the WCWS, Washington won 2-0 over Florida.
Current Husky quarterback Jake Locker
was spotted in the stands supporting his girlfriend, Washington outfielder Lauren Greer
. And former quarterback Isaiah Stanback
, now a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, also made the trip north to support his alma mater.
Second straight first-timer
Washington became a first-time softball national champion Tuesday night, following in the footsteps of first-timer Arizona State last year.
