It's hard to believe so many people think guns are the root of all evil and want them banned. Don't they realize they're only hurting the honest gun owner who uses his for hunting and other sports, such as target shooting? Guns, like knives, rocks or any other objects that could be used as weapons, are inanimate — harmless to some extent until the human element comes in contact with them. Then they become whatever that person wants them to be.
The problem isn't the gun but the lack of laws to severely prosecute those who break these laws with guns. Until that day arrives, there will still be violent crimes. We need stricter laws, not gun-control laws that disarm the honest citizen. Criminals will always find a way to get their hands on guns, no matter what type of gun ban is imposed in this country.
