The Oklahoma County OHCE Genealogy Group will meet at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. in the Leroy H. Fisher Board Room, Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive.
The OHCE Genealogy Group recently completed a cemetery directory project which provides locations and directions to all known cemeteries in all 77 counties in Oklahoma. Its focus this year is to provide tombstone photographs and transcriptions of symbols for all known cemeteries in Oklahoma County.
Luann Waters, state coordinator for the Oklahoma Leopold Education Project, will present “Gravestone Studies.”
The presentation will include interpretation of the basic information as well as interpretation of the tombstone symbols for occupations and social organizations.
• The Southwest Oklahoma Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. July 21 in the Family History Room at the Lawton Public Library, 110 SW 4, Lawton.
Society members will provide information about beginning a genealogy research project using printed and microfilm materials available in the Family History Room. Members also will demonstrate Genealogy 101, a basic computer resource available for beginning a research project, which is available on the Internet.

Annual book sales
The Oklahoma Historical Society Research Center Book Sale will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 and 9. The sale will feature rare and out-of-print genealogy history education, literature books, records, periodicals and reproductions of historic maps.
Both events will be at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive.
