The Dallas Genealogical Society 2013 Spring Lecture, “Records, Research & Stories” will be March 16 at J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young Street, Dallas.
Paula Stuart-Warren, nationally known and recognized genealogical author, lecturer, and researcher, will speak on the following:
• “Tho' They Were Poor, They May Have Been Rich in Records” — Various records and sources for tracking ancestors who weren't landowners, were perennial renters staying one step ahead of the bill collector or didn't leave behind a 10-page will listing all the children. Examples will span many states and time periods and both private organizations and government agencies at many levels.
• “Research Reports for Ourselves” — Reporting to yourself on analysis and research is not as daunting a task as some researchers think. As an added benefit, this self-reporting makes it easier when you eventually write your family history.
