Weather watches, warnings issued

Several weather warnings and watches have been issued by the National Weather Service. They include:

Tornado watch

•  Until 4 p.m. today: Adair, Caddo, Canadian, Cherokee, Cleveland, Coal, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Garvin, Grady, Haskell, Hughes, Latimer, Lincoln, Mayes, McClain, McIntosh, Murray, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Ottawa, Pittsburg, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Rogers, Seminole, Sequoyah, Stephens, Tulsa and Wagoner counties.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado.

Lake wind advisory

•  Until 7 p.m. today: McCurtain County.

A lake wind advisory means winds will cause rough chop. Small boats will be prone to capsizing.

Red flag warning

•  Until 9 p.m. today: Cimarron, Harmon, Jackson and Tillman counties.

A red flag warning means dangerous conditions are creating wildfire growth potential. Conditions include sustained winds averaging at least 20 mph, relative humidity of 20 percent or less and a temperature more than 65 degrees.

Flash flood watch

•  Until late tonight: McCurtain County.

•  Until Tuesday morning: Adair, Cherokee, Choctaw, Craig, Delaware, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Mayes, Ottawa, Pushmataha, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa and Wagoner counties.

A flash flood watch means conditions are favorable for flooding. Rivers and creeks may overflow and heavy runoff or drainage of water into low-lying areas may happen.

Flash flood warning

•  Until 3:30 p.m. today: western Cherokee, Mayes, northeastern Okmulgee, southeastern Rogers, Tulsa and Wagoner counties.

A flash flood warning means flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. A flash flood is usually the result of heavy or excessive amounts of rainfall within a short period of time, usually less than 6 hours, causing water to rise and fall quite rapidly.

Flood warning

•  Until 3:15 p.m. today: Northwestern Oklahoma County.

•  Until late tonight: Bird Creek in Avant in Osage County.

•  Until Tuesday morning: Black Bear Creek in Pawnee in Pawnee County.

•  Until late Wednesday: Poteau River near Panama in Le Flore County.

A flood warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Rivers and creeks are overflowing and heavy runoff or drainage of water into low-lying areas is happening.
