— Myles Soporito is a 6-year-old flag football player, wrestler and soccer player who is epileptic and has factor V, a blood-clotting disorder. He is hoping to get a furry best friend who could save his life.

A kindergartner at Burcham Elementary in Weatherford, Myles loves animals and has an amazing ability to comfort them.

His family has struggled throughout the ups and downs of his health, as well as their own, but have gotten to the point where they need to meet his new best friend who could save his life one day.

At just 8 months old, he had his first grand mal seizure. After two years of hospitalizations and doctors' visits, they slowly weaned him off his medication and his family thought that he was seizure-free.

“We were all so excited,” said his mom, Nancye.

About six months later, she noticed Myles was having speech issues. They went back for more hospitalizations, more surgeries, more blood drawing and more medication.

During this time period, Myles' parents also found out their daughter had medical conditions and Nancye was fighting cancer.

Recently, Myles' doctor recommended his family get him a seizure-assistance dog. The dog will give Myles independence and help him interact with other people, allowing him to be less isolated because of his disability.

It will cost 4 Paws for Ability $22,000 to place a dog with Myles. His family is committed to raising $13,000 in support of the 4 Paws mission. To make a tax-deductible donation, go to 4 Paws Donation Page at www.4PawsForAbility.org/donate-now.
