Web viewing of NCAA games gaining in popularity

03/20/2009 NCAA wrestling overage goes HD ESPNU, ESPN and ESPN2 and will combine for 11 hours of coverage of the NCAA Wrestling Championships today and Saturday from...
"Just based on activity we’re watching in and out of the site, we’ll break last year’s record,” said Jason Kint, senior vice president of CBS Sportsline.com.
According to Nielsen Online, 92 percent of the site users ( http://mmod.ncaa.com/) do so through work computers. There had been speculation that many of those still employed might not be brave enough to watch the games at work.
"I think people recognize that this is a unique sports event that transcends culture in the work place,” Kint said. "People are doing their brackets at the office. And it’s probably a pretty good break from the rest of the year, which has been tough on people.”
For sneaky viewers, a "boss button” provides a quick escape from the video coverage to a "spread sheet” with tournament records and highlights.
