NORMAN — A website at the middle of an intellectual property rights lawsuit was taken down Tuesday.
On Tuesday afternoon, the website at the address soonernetwork.com no longer included information about eldercare services in Oklahoma. The address now links to a placeholder site that includes a message saying the domain has been registered.
The University of Oklahoma filed suit last week against Dallas resident Hugh Michael Glenn, 43, saying Glenn bought the domain with the intent to sell it to OU at a profit.
On Monday, the website at the address soonernetwork.com appeared to be a service that connects Oklahomans with eldercare providers. According to the site, the network doesn't charge patients or family members for the service.
According to the lawsuit, the site previously included only a silhouette of a longhorn, similar to the logo used by the University of Texas Longhorns, with the words “Go Longhorns!!! This domain is for sale.”
