As previously reported, coach and Oklahoma country superstar Blake Shelton and his former contender Xenia brought some warm holiday cheer to NBC’s Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice” Tuesday night.

Shelton crooned the Christmas classic “Silver Bells” with Xenia, who was a popular member of his team during season one of “The Voice.”

Shelton is currently a coach on NBC’s Emmy Award-winning musical-competition series “The Voice.” The Tishomingo resident recently was awarded the  Country Music Association’s Album of the Year honor for his platinum-selling album “Based on a True Story….,” and was named Male Vocalist of the Year for the fourth consecutive year.

Just off the heels of his multi-week No. 1 smash hit, “Boys ‘Round Here,” the follow-up single “Mine Would Be You” raced to the top of the charts to mark his 15th No. 1 (10th consecutive) single. “Mine Would Be You” has topped the charts for the last three weeks, making it one of the longest-charting country singles of 2013. The Ada native has earned a host of other awards and nominations, including multiple Grammy nominations, six gold and platinum albums, and is the three-time host of the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Xenia released her debut EP “Sing You Home” in 2011. The disc reached No. 3 on the iTunes Pop charts. The “Sing You Home” single has also been a hit on YouTube. Her connection to her former remains strong. She sang with Shelton on the song “Silver Bells” on his 2012 holiday album, “Cheers, It’s Christmas.”

The pair wasn’t the only one singing in the season. Kelly Clarkson, who was an adviser on Team Blake during season two of “The Voice,” performed “Underneath the Tree” from her just released Christmas album “Wrapped in Red.” Clarkson will also be seen on NBC next week as she stars in “Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale.” The special will air at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11.

In addition, the Season 5 field was narrowed to the top five on Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice.” Team Christina Aguilera’s Matthew Schuler was eliminated from the competition.

The top five are Team Xtina’s Jacquie Lee, Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury and Team Adam Levine’s Tessanne Chin, Will Champlin and James Wolpert.
