Country music superstar Miranda Lambert talks about her lifelong love of dogs and her efforts to revamp the animal shelter in her adopted hometown of Tishomingo in this video that continues her ongoing relationship with the Pedigree Feeding Project, an initiative the pet food brand started in Nashville and Chicago that supplies participating shelters with 100 percent of their core dog food needs, at absolutely no cost.

Lambert, who has made fashion headlines this for debuting a new bob hairstyle at a party celebrating her new No. 1 hit “Automatic,” says in the video she currently has six dogs that she has adopted.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also is appearing on the July/August issue of Ladies Home Journal, the venerable magazine’s final issue, according to The Boot, and is preparing to launch her “Platinum” tour July 10 in Fort Loramie, Ohio. (So far, there are no tour dates in Oklahoma, but here’s hoping some are added down the road.)
