Native American brother rap duo Mike Bone of Oklahoma City will appear tonight on the reality TV show “America’s Got Talent,” airing at 8 tonight on NBC.

Lil Mike and Funny Bone, who are members of the Pawnee tribe, performed their original song “Rain Dance” in their initial audition in San Antonio, Texas, which aired July 2. All four judges praised their rapping and dancing, and they even had host Nick Cannon dancing along backstage.  The performance has since garnered more than 644,000 YouTube views.

“This is really weird. I was like not expecting to sit here and enjoy this,” said judge Howard Stern. You did a really credible job. I though you were really good.”

I thought it was great. I loved the song – it’s in my head,” said Howie Mandel, who goggled when the brothers playfully told him he’d be even more impressed with their “Rain Dance” after he went outside in about 30 minutes.

Mel B said “I loved it, but I hated it. I know it’s already in my head,” adding the dancing was “spot-on.”

“I was entertained and that’s what this is all about,” said Heidi Klum, who didn’t even have to vote after the other three judges voted to send Mike Bone through to the Las Vegas rounds, which started airing Tuesday night and continue tonight.

The brothers, who are little people and are 52 inches tall, have become pretty well known around the Oklahoma City area. Back in 2006, my fine colleague Ken Raymond profiled them and dubbed them “almost certainly, Oklahoma City’s only on-call, full-time, American Indian, little people, Christian, hip-hop artists.”

In addition, check out the 18-minute documentary “Looked Over But Never Overlooked: The Story of Lil Mike and Funny Bone,” an official entry at the 2010 Trail Dance Film Festival in Duncan and 2010 Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival in Muskogge, along with the brothers’ July 2 “America’s Got Talent” performance and “Rain Dance” official music video:
