As previously reported, country trio Rascal Flatts, which includes Picher-bred guitarist Joe Don Rooney, performed on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Voice.” The group played “Rewind,” the title track from their new album of the same name, which was released Tuesday.

The Flatts also will perform on Friday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
” and May 23′s “Today” show.

Plus, the band’s tour in support of “Rewind” will include an Oklahoma show July 10 at the OKC Downtown Airpark. Sheryl Crow and Gloriana will be special guests on the date. For more information, go to

The band was the second big-time country act with Oklahoma ties to perform in so many weeks on the highly rated reality TV show. Ada native Blake Shelton, who of course is one of “The Voice’s” celebrity coaches, sang his new hit ballad “My Eyes,” featuring Season 2 Team Blake contender Gwen Sebastian.

Shelton, who is celebrating his third wedding anniversary with fellow country star and Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert, also donned a blond wig for a “The Voice” confessional for Tuesday night’s episode. It was all in the service of mocking his bromantic buddy Adam Levine, naturally.

Good times in today’s Wednesday Video Spotlight.

In addition, the top 3 finalists for this season of “The Voice” were revealed in Tuesday night’s episode. To read all about it, click here.
