My favorite show, BBC’s “Sherlock,” is returning for its fourth season in 2015!
According to Variety.com, the new season will consist of a special episode, which will begin filming in January 2015, and three episodes, which will commence production later in the year.
Co-creator, writer and executive producer Steven Moffat said of the show’s return: “A special, plus a new series of three episodes — it’s a record-breaking run! Of course, it’s far too early to say what’s coming, but we’re reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John (Martin Freeman) is the very last thing you’d expect…”
Co-creator, writer and executive producer Mark Gatiss (who also plays Sherlock’s older brother Mycroft Holmes in the series) added, “Series four! At last! It’s always special to return to ‘Sherlock’ but this time it’s even more special as we’re doing… a special! Not only that, we’ll then be shooting three more episodes which will take Sherlock and John Watson into deeper and darker water than ever before. The whole ‘Sherlock’ team are terrifically excited to return for four new adventures. The game is on — again!”
Exact dates for the show’s return to the BBC in the U.K. and PBS in the U.S. have yet to be announced.
If you’ve not yet seen “Sherlock,” Seasons 1-3 are currently streaming on Netflix, so you have plenty of time to get caught up with the game. Here’s a few hilarious highlights to convince you because the mysteries are good but the dialogue and chemistry on this show are the real reasons to watch:
