Wednesday will be windy in Oklahoma

A windy Wednesday is ahead in Oklahoma. A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. as cooler temperatures arrive.

Winds could gust up to 45 mph Wednesday in central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

A wind advisory is in effect from western to central Oklahoma until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Parts of northern Oklahoma will be under a red flag warning for high fire danger from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, the weather service reports.

Temperatures will be near 75 degrees in Oklahoma City. Overnight lows will be around 42 degrees.

The forecast from the National Weather Service for Oklahoma City is as follows:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 75. Windy with a south wind 14 to 19 mph becoming north 27 to 32 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 42. Northwest wind 13 to 18 mph decreasing to 7 to 12 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 70. Northwest wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 42. West wind 7 to 13 mph.

Friday: Sunny with a high near 74. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 47.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 82.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 81.

Sunday night: Mostly clear with a low around 63.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny with a high near 81.

Monday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 60.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 75.
