A man was killed and his wife seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday and a man died Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident, according to authorities.
•Tommy Hamman, 61, DuncanHamman died at the scene of the motorcycle wreck, which occurred about 2:25 p.m. on State Highway 7 Bypass north of Plato Road, said Duncan police Master Officer Steve Biffle. Sharon Hamman, 58, his wife and passenger, was listed in critical condition Sunday at OU Medical Center.
A witness told police Hamman was southbound on the highway when his motorcycle went left of center and veered off the roadway, striking a concrete barrier on a bridge, Biffle said. The Hammans were ejected from the motorcycle.
Biffle said the cause of the wreck is under investigation. There were no skid marks at the scene, and the motorcycle had no obvious pre-existing mechanical problems.
Tommy Hamman was not wearing a helmet, but Sharon Hamman was, Biffle said.
•Shannon Ayo, 34,Elk CityAyo was driving a car westbound on a Beckham County road, about four miles west of Elk City, about 12:45 p.m. when the vehicle left the road on the left side, traveling more than 550 feet before striking a tree, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Ayo died at the scene, the patrol said.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is pending, according to a patrol report.
He was not wearing a seat belt.
