Weiberg to step down as commissioner
Big 12 leader accepts job with new Big Ten Network
Nine was enough for Kevin Weiberg .
Saying "it was simply time for a change,” the Big 12 commissioner is leaving the position to work with the new Big Ten Network .
The resignation is effective July 15. Weiberg, 50, will become vice president of university planning and development for the new network, which is a joint venture of the Big Ten and Fox cable.
