Tuesday night we witnessed a truly historic election in this country. The first black president was re-elected to his second term. No one thought that would ever happen; 40 years ago it wouldn't have. No matter how historic the election was, reality now sets in. The plans and programs set forth by President Obama in his first term were dismal failures. We've seen historic debt and unemployment and a socialized medicine plan that we can't pay for. We're looking at inflation rates that haven't been seen since the Carter administration, fuel prices through the roof and massive regulatory action that promises to stifle growth. The fiscal picture isn't a pretty one and the ability to blame someone else for it is gone.
Nevertheless, as Americans we'll press on. We got up the next morning and went to work. We'll continue to take care of our children and do what it takes to provide for our families. We'll continue to fight against those who threaten our safety and stability and we'll prepare for the next challenge that we face. We'll survive and learn from our mistakes as long as we remember that the only one who is in charge is God.
