Interstate 40 westbound lanes are open again, but traffic is still backed up in western Oklahoma City due to two fatality collisions.

The roadway was closed from about 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., after an auto/pedestrian accident near Mustang Road.

Preliminary reports indicate the pedestrian killed may have been a motorist on the roadside who was having car problems.

While westbound traffic began to back up from the accident scene on Mustang Road, a second fatal crash occurred near Morgan Road.
