Westmoore coach Billy Langford praised the Jaguars (3-0) for listening to coaches at halftime and correcting mistakes.
“We quit giving up big plays,” Langford said. “We came out in the second half and stopped getting penalties and backing ourselves up in a hole. We just played pretty good, clean football. If you can go out and play clean football, you can be successful.”
Thompson connected with Dalton Craig on scoring passes of 30 and 3 yards and hit Austin Bowling for a 22-yard touchdown that gave Westmoore its first lead.
“Sometimes he tends to put more pressure on himself than what he needs to do, but he's a competitor and he wants to have that pressure,” Langford said of Thompson. “He responded really well in the second half.”
