Austin Richards, Jhames West ambush Lions' defense to help Westmoore to a 62-14 rout in annual Moore War
MOORE — Westmoore scored 48 points in the first half en route to its 62-14 victory Friday night against Moore in the annual Moore War football game.

Westmoore running back Austin Richards rushed for 75 yards on six carries with four touchdowns. He caught two passes from quarterback Jhames West for 30 yards.
“It made me really happy to see that all the work we put in for the summer paid off in the end,” Richards said.
Westmoore opened scoring with West's 24-yard touchdown run after the Jaguars' defense forced a three-and-out during Moore's first possession of the game.
“Just to know that my coaches were going to put it all on me for the first score really meant a lot to me, and I knew I couldn't let them down,” West said.
West passed for 121 yards and rushed for 82.
Richards added to Westmoore's lead with a 28-yard run on the Jaguars' second possession for a 14-0 lead. Kieron Hardrick scored on the following series for a 21-0 lead with 6:44 left in the first quarter. The Jags scored TDs on their first-three running plays of the game.
“Our offensive line guys are really good, and we've got some really good athletes running the ball,” Westmoore coach Billy Langford said.
Moore showed signs of life late in the second quarter, getting a field goal.
Lions quarterback Colin Webb rushed for 136 yards on 11 carries with a touchdown. But Moore's downfall was six turnovers.
Westmoore increased its lead to 35-0 with 10:17 left in the half, when its defense forced a fumble in Moore territory. The offense converted the turnover into points and put the game out of reach.
