Reggie Jackson stepped up to the microphone at his exit interview and made it clear: He wants to start.
Anthony Slater wrote about Jackson’s starting ambitions in his story in Tuesday’s Oklahoman. But what’s been lost in translation has been what Jackson meant by one of his comments in the interview.
Here’s the somewhat vague snippet from Jackson from Slater’s story:
But the Thunder already has a guy running the show. Name of Russell Westbrook, arguably the best point guard in the league.
“That’s what everybody keeps saying,” Jackson quipped.
“That’s what everybody keeps saying.” What the heck does that mean? That’s what I found myself thinking when I read it a few times.
Jackson’s answer came following a string of questioning about his role as a sixth man.
