What they are saying about the James Harden trade

Dwyane Wade: “Shocking, but they made the move they felt was right for them. It shakes up the West a little bit. I think both teams got fair value. I'm not a GM or anything, but both teams came out pretty good … I still think they're the best team in the West right now.”

J.A. Adande, ESPN: “The Heat and Lakers should love it. With Harden, the Thunder were only 19 points away from sweeping Miami in the Finals — and that was with a subpar Harden.”

Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo Sports: “To a man, none of the key Thunder players were surprised this happened, and none are conceding championship aspirations. In some ways, they can all breathe out now: This is the team, and now they go forward.”

Nick Collison: “It's been a good run. Don't look back.”

Ian Thomsen, Sports Illustrated: “The six-player deal … should keep alive OKC's hopes of winning the West while changing its dynamic for the long term. For this season, the Thunder should be able to make do with Kevin Martin … for the long term, the Thunder may be able to use other assets from this trade to eventually replace Harden.”

Fran Blinebury, “No matter if the veteran Kevin Martin fits seamlessly into the picture or the rookie Jeremy Lamb explodes onto the scene or the Thunder have to wait for the handful of first- and second-round draft picks to bear fruit, a young OKC with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka at the core will have its chance to shine again.”
